RIGGING:

The Spy is straightforward to rig, designed for simplicity and performance. With just the right amount of force, the luff curve easily counteracts, setting the profile’s rotation to create a slight loose leech that falls smoothly to the front of the first top mini batten. Adjusting the outhaul on the higher ring will allow you to either boost power or increase control—just be sure to maintain a solid outhaul tension until you find your ideal setup.

For the battens, tighten both the bottom and top, but only remove wrinkles on the other battens—don’t over-tighten. As wind conditions intensify, the Spy can be retuned by adding more tension, enhancing the leech twist without compromising the draft shape. For wave sailing, use the lower ring and decrease the downhaul by 2cm from the maximum specs setting for optimal performance.
